INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The use of YouTube has attracted the attention of many social media users in contemporary times. The channel has succeeded in attracting millions of users. YouTube as a social media channel provides a video sharing service for watching of videos and users can like, share, comment and upload videos of their choice. This video service can be watched on PCs, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. The fundamental role of YouTube is that it can be used to search for videos, watching videos. It is also used for creating and uploading videos. The use of YouTube leads to the acquisition of new knowledge enhances social interractions. It facilitate good memory and better understanding because the viewers can see, hear and act what they see leading to a higher level of understanding of a subject watch on the video. According to (Lindstorm, 1994). The use of YouTube as a video has proven to be effective for learning activities. Also, (Krauskopf, Zahn & Hesse, 2012; Zahn, Pea, Hesse, & Rosen, 2012) posit that it enables Learners to see, hear and produce the required Knowledge. The content of instructional video can be downloaded for further learning. Youtube videos can be shared thereby serving as an effective means of learning and interaction. It enables the Learners to develop higher level thinking skills such as problem solving, decision making, communication and collaboration skills through the process of interractions. The study seeks to proffer an assessment of youtube as an effective teaching and learning channel (A case study of selected MBA students of the University of South Wales.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The use of YouTube can some time pose some challenges when sharing contents as one may encounter criticism, negative comments and bullying which undermines the objective of you trying to get a perfect understanding of the subject in question.
The problem facing the study is proffer an assessment of youtube as an effective teaching and learning channel (A case study of selected MBA students of the University of South Wales.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The Main Objective of the study is to proffer an assessment of youtube as an effective teaching and learning channel (A case study of selected MBA students of the University of South Wales. The specific objectives include:
i. To understand the prevalent of YouTube as an effective teaching and learning channel.
ii. To examine the level of student addictiveness to YouTube and the influence on their academic achievement.
iii. To identify the factors militating against the effectiveness of YouTube as a teaching and learning channel.

Ho1: There is no significant contribution of YouTube to the academic achievement of students.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The study provides an assessment of youtube as an effective teaching and learning channel .A case study of selected MBA students of the University of South Wales. It provides relevant data for the effective formulation and implementation of policies to enhance the realization of envisaged objective.
LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The study was confronted with logistics and geographical factors.
